Editing Services

We believe that there are many music teachers who wish to share their vast wealth of knowledge and experience but do not necessarily know how to translate their ideas into reality. Longbow Publishing can help with this, whether the product is for a teacher’s own studio or for sale across North America (see the submissions page for more information).

Our goal is to help potential writers realize their potential and we offer a unique service: to help produce the manuscript. To submit a book or product to a publisher, it must be in a useable format with all the scores written on computer. Longbow helps writers choose the correct program in which to create their product and takes hand-written scores and reproduces them electronically.

We use the following programs:

• Finale (a music writing program, the industry’s leading music-writing software)
• PageMaker
• Adobe Reader
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Publisher
• Excel
• PaintShop Pro
• Picture files in .gif .tif .jpeg .PDF formats
• InDesign CS3

Our editing services are available to anyone, whether you wish to produce scores or manuscripts for personal use, or to get a manuscript ready for publication.

The manuscripts produced remain the intellectual property of the author who holds the copyright; you do not assign rights to Longbow Publishing, another unique feature of our company, allowing the author maximum autonomy.

The fees depend on the size of the project, the number of programs that will be involved, and whether or not the manuscript will be published by Longbow. Please contact us for more information or if you have any questions.
